Welcome to "Rolling on the River"

Welcome to "Rolling on the River!" This is a site established for educational collaboration and communication focused on rivers, lakes, ponds, oceans - water! We are glad you are here, and we hope you will help start conversations, share information, add related photos and videos, and find partner schools for your projects.

We all know how critical clean water is to our health and to the health of our planet. Raising student awareness about the issues that affect our water sources so that they can be good stewards of our planet is of great importance. Through the study of water and issues surrounding local and global water supplies, students can become environmentally aware. In doing so, they can then take action to protect the health of rivers, streams, oceans, and all bodies of water.

An interdisciplinary exhibit that focuses on rivers and other bodies of water has been developed as a springboard for the utilization of technology in water studies. This exhibit can be viewed on the Apple Learning Interchange, and it is titled Rolling on the River.

Join us as we go "Rolling on the River," and share your students' stories here! Welcome!

Problem Based Learning

PBL is lately emphasized as a way to inspire students.  It fits perfectly with science especially.  How much luck have any of you had with integrating your PBL water quality units with other disciplines or across grades? See More
